Sara Mayer & A. Morhange (French, active end 19th century-beginning 20th century)

French fashion house located at Rue du Helder 5, Paris and 5 rue Boudreau. The gowns and wraps from Sarah Mayer A. Morhange were imported to many notable American stores such as John Wanamaker. The firm, one of Paris's twenty premier couture houses at the beginning of the twentieth century, exhibited at the World's Columbian Exhibition in Chicago in 1893 and the Exposition Universelle of Paris in 1900. The designer had a reputation for being heavily inspired by the House of Worth.
