Edme LORDEREAU (French, 1st half of the 19th century)

French publisher, distributor, printer manufacturer active from around 1839 to 1868 at 55, Rue Saint-Jacques and 59, rue Saint-Jacques in Paris. He runs a print shop. He printed obscene works and counterfeits. In 1839, he made a very large bankruptcy. Initially, his business had only two hand presses and only published religious images. In a report dated July 17, 1839, we learned that Mr. LORDEREAU applied for the patent to save money. Since he is a prints dealer, he is forced to call on a patented person, Mr. BETRIMIEUX. The latter testified by saying that Mr. LORDEREAU had often made him print obscene and counterfeit works. However, in a report of August 31, 1839, we learn that Mr. BETRIMIEUX is simply trying to discredit Mr. LORDEREAU because he has ceased to employ him.
