Léopold-Émile REUTLINGER (French, Callao 1863 - 1937 Paris)

Léopold-Émile REUTLINGER is a French photographer, born March 17, 1863 in Callao, Peru, and died March 16, 1937 (aged 73) in Paris. Léopold-Émile REUTLINGER has produced a large number of photographic portraits, including personalities like Mata-Hari, Cléo de Mérode, Colette, Anna Held, Liane de Pougy, La Belle Otero, Amélie Diéterle, Sarah Bernhardt, Yvonne Dubel. Many have been published on postcards. He is the son of the German-French photographer Charles REUTLINGER (1816-1880). In 1893, he became head of the family photographic workshop, founded during the 1850s by Charles REUTLINGER. His son Jean REUTLINGER will work alongside him as a photographer.
