Jean PLUMET (France, Mâcon 1871 - 1939 Flacé-lès-Mâcon)

Jean Louis PLUMET born June 13, 1871 in Mâcon and died in 1939 in Flacé-lès-Mâcon is a French painter and designer. In 1901 Jean PLUMET composed "L'Assiette au Beurre" entitled “Au bagne”, an album captioned by Jacques DHUR. During the 1900s, he also collaborated on humorous periodicals such as "Le Frou-frou", "Pellé-Mélle" and "Le Rire". He was a member of the National Society of Fine Arts delegation from 1901 to 1905. He exhibited watercolors at the Salon des Indépendants in 1915 and his style was linked to the Post-Impressionist movement. In 1919, he exhibited at the Salon de la Société des beaux-arts in Lyon. He is the brother of Paul PLUMET (active in the twentieth century), decorator and stylist for Paul POIRET.
