Rowenta (German, founded 1909)

Rowenta is a German brand of small household appliances created in 1909 and today belonging to the French group SEB. The company was founded in 1884 by Robert WEINTRAUD (German, 1860 - 1927) under the name Robert Weintraud GmbH & Co KG. It was in 1909 that the company changed its name to Rowenta, an acronym for the full name of the company. It was then bought in 1988 by the French SEB group, whose head office is located in Écully in the Rhône.
