Stolitsa i usadba (Russian, 1913 - 1917)

Stolitsa i usadba [Столица и усадьба; Capital and Manor] was a bimonthly « magazine of the beautiful life » edited in St Petersburg (Petrograd), Russia from 1913 to 1917. The editor : Vladimir KRYMOV (1878 - 1968), a Russian prose-writer and a businessman. The magazine was dedicated to the high life of both Russian capitals, the Russian estate, art, collecting, history, and sports. Richly illustrated and printed on the finest coated paper, the periodical devoted many pages to personals and photographs of high society ladies, but also to the history of the Russian estate, art, collecting, memoirs, and reproductions of classical and contemporary paintings. It was the first Russian magazine that printed a color portrait photography (in the issue n° 26 of January 1915). Nowadays, it is highly regarded as a rich cultural source.
