Schuhfabrik Andreas Neider (Austrian, 1898 - ca 1918)

Andreas Neider's shoe factory was originally located in the 7th district of Vienna, at Schottenfeldgasse 65. The building was erected in 1905 - 1906 by Oskar Marmorek. The history of the Neider trading family goes back to the 19th century. In the Danube monarchy, the combination of trade and crafts was a safe field of activity, especially in the combination of quality work and valuable materials. That was also the declared goal of the founder of the first international factory and trading house, Andreas NEIDER Senior. Founded in Vienna in 1898, just a few years later he was awarded the title of the court shoe manufacturer by Emperor Franz Josef I. In addition to the manufacture of footwear for the infantry and cavalry of the imperial armies, the army of the Russian Tsarist Empire was also equipped with riding boots from 1909. Plants in Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Odessa and Moscow were founded. At the end of the First World War, the trading empire collapsed. The founding building in the 7th district of Vienna became a simple trading house that only became successful again after the Second World War. In 2001, UPN Austria GmbH was founded. Managing Director Stefan NEIDER reopened the import and export trade.
