La tunique Radiah (French, active in 1920s)
La tunique Radiah was Paris registered trademark specializing in crafting and selling for foreign or domestic retailing by the model of wholesale business, or couture en gros (wholesale couture).
Embroidered and beaded dresses were an important part of this production in the 1920s. Some enterprises capitalized on a narrow offer, like the beaded shift dress in the case of La tunique Radiah, embroidered with flowers, leaves, and arabesques in beads of gold, silver, steel, and crystal. It was intended for the foreign markets, by way of commissionaires and international buyers. In the late 1920s, the range sold by the wholesale houses expanded. The fashion for beaded dresses faded, and the wholesale business had also learned to better integrate "the spirit of haute couture," producing more varied up-to- date designs.
