Son of Jean VILLAIN and Françoise LEFEBVRE. He married Marie Anne Adélaïde DESCHAMPS with whom he had a daughter Marie Adélaïde Joséphine, born on March 5, 1779. The family lived in Montmartre. We do not know much about Jean Louis VILLAIN career. It is assumed that he was the student of Jean-Augustin MASSAVY d'ARMANCOURT (Born around 1735 or 36) miniature painter and master in drawing because the daughter of the latter will be the godmother of Marie Adélaïde Joséphine VILLAIN. On the marriage certificate of Marie Adélaïde Joséphine VILLAIN she is called VILLAIN know as VILLIERS.
