Bäumler Modestra GmbH (German, 1934-2020)
Bäumler Modestra GmbH was a German joint venture between Bäumler and Modestra that produced men's clothing in the 1950s–2000s. Hans Bäumler Herrenbekleidung was founded in 1934 by the textile manufacturer Hans BÄUMLER in Mainz, Germany. The company moved its headquarters to Ingolstadt in 1944. Bäumlers partnered with world famous weavers such as Vitale Barberis, Cerruti, Loro Piana, Zegna, and Reda. Under the combined Bäumler-Modestra label it was one of the leading international brands for high-quality men’s fashion with a high level of awareness throughout Europe. The goods were produced exclusively in Budapest. The company changed its name to Bäumler Fashion GmbH in 2003 and was liquidated in 2020.
