A.Fredrikson Oy (Finnish, 1887-1992)

A. Fredrikson Oy was a highly prominent, historic Finnish cap and hat manufacturer. The company was founded by Anton FREDRIKSON in Jyväskylä, Finland in 1887. Fredrikson was known in the Nordic region for high-quality winter headwear, military caps, graduation caps (ylioppilaslakki), and fashion-forward wool felt or fur pieces from the mid-to-late 20th century. On vintage labels the brand name could be written as Fredson or A. Fredrikson Oy. The original company ceased operations when it went bankrupt in 1992. However, the famous cap-making operations were immediately continued by a newly formed entity that eventually merged with M.A.S.I Company.
