House of Mary Nowitzky (French, 1924-1930)

Mary NOWITZKY (the French spelling) was a Russian emigrant fashion couture house specialized in silk beach-pajamas, knitwear, sportswear and painted silk creations. Active between 1924-1930 in Paris at 82, rue des Petits Champs, and belonged to Maria Nowitskaya, She married Prince Victor Kochubei and emigrated to America in the 1930s where her success continued. In 1928 Harper's Bazaar commented that, 'The combinations of colours are notable for their brightness and fancifulness.bold yet harmonious colour combinations'.
