Oscar de la RENTA (American, 1932 - 2014)

Oscar de la RENTA was an American fashion designer of Dominican origin, founder of the Oscar de la Renta company. Starting with Jacqueline Kennedy, he dressed all the first US ladies Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton. Twice he was president of the American Council of Fashion Designers, in 1993 —2002 created the Pierre Balmain collection for the house, became the first American to lead the Parisian high fashion house. Oscar de la Renta passed away on October 20, 2014, at the age of 82. At that time, he was the oldest acting fashion designer in the United States. One of his last works was the wedding dress of Amal Alamuddin, the bride of actor George Clooney.
