Description
African style wooden beaded apron shaped dress, Spring - Summer 1978 haute couture collection, made up of wooden beads, some natural, others featuring a geometric pattern, connected by small metal rings and enhanced with string in places, bib held by a strap that attaches to the neck, fringed skirt with asymmetrical length.
Paco RABANNE fashion has always been rich in experiments with materials and revolutionary projects such as paper dresses, models in fluorescent leather, hammered metal, aluminum jersey and knitted fur. Between 1976 and 1989, his Haute Couture collections were enriched with new materials treated in an unconventional way such as luminescent fabrics, metallic papers, openwork or metal braided suede, dresses made of curtains with wooden beads and spectacular shapes.
