Description
Pencil on paper study drawing representing a naked dancer performing a dance movement. The young woman is known to be the famous Russian cabaret dancer Lila NIKOLSKA.

Elizaveta “Lila” NIKOLSKA was an important dancer from the 1920s-1930s. Between 1923-27, she was working as a choreographer with the Prague Ballet. At the same time she was a choreographer with the Folies Bergere in Paris, as well as a performer. Her performance in France can be seen in the 1927 film La Revue des Revues. She inspired the French architect, decorator and painter Maurice PICAUD (1900-1977) called Pico when he realised the central motif of the french cabaret music hall Folies Bergere facade, located in Paris, France.
