The 1924 Summer Olympics, the Games of the VIII Olympiad in the modern era, were celebrated in Paris, France, from July 5 to 27, 1924. Despite the problems encountered at the 1900 Olympic Games, Baron Pierre de COUBERTIN again wishes to organize this event in the French capital in order to prove to the world that Paris and France are capable of welcoming athletes from all over the world in fraternal competitions.

Baron Pierre de Coubertin ended his career after these Olympics. Despite the absence of the public and some financial difficulties, these Games were a success in the participation and performances of the athletes, but also by the growing interest in the event.
