Description
Wooden, rectangular shadowbox with lucite handle and four small legs on the bottom. Fasteners of the handle and lock are made of gold brass. Inside red velvet lining.
Decorated with "Anton Pieck" volumetric print under the glass and wooden frame. Depicts a busy market street in Holland. On the left hand side bottom shown a woman carrying two buckets on the shoulder yoke, heading towards the arch with the inscription on the top "Castigatio". in the middle of the picture is a seller standing at the counter with vegetables holding a pipe in his mouth. Near the gentleman is a stairs with a woman standing on the top of it. On the right hand side, bottom corner is written "Anton Pieck Heilige weg Amsterdam".
