Description
Brass ashtray of Egyptian inspiration. A pharaonic bust on a symbol of Horus dominates the flare forming the ash receptacle. This has two small ears. The ashtray is tilted upwards by two wing-shaped supports.
The symbol of Horus is fanciful, and the pharaoh wears a nemes with a cobra and vulture head. It was inspired by Howard CARTER's discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb in 1924. This exhumation in the Valley of the Kings triggered a major craze in Europe for ancient Egypt.
