Description
Small rectangular incurved belt buckle in mother of pearl imitating white celluloid with a central arm to which a steel pin is attached. It has slightly rounded edges.Celluloid enabled in the beginning of the 20th century a nascent industry to develop, producing the first mass-produced objects made of plastic. It was notably used to imitate materials such as mother-of-pearls in jewellery.
