Description
Large rectangular wooden box lined inside with blue silk and having a mirror under the lid. The casket is entirely embellished with greenĀ Martin's varnish, with splashes of green glitters, and painted designs in scrolled rococo frames, representing on the top two fancy dressed couples dancing in front of a grey house. The ladies are wearing pink ball gowns with a pink and a blue cape, and the gentlemen are dressed in a red and a blue suits. On the front, a man playing a violin, and a woman holding white sheet, are standing on the mountain background separated by a tree in the center. On the left side, a man in a red jacket with blue breeches is holding a bottle, and on the right side, a woman in a pink skirt with blue top and white apron is holding a pitcher. On the back, a similar landscape with a tree in the center on a sunset sky is painted. The case was supposed to containĀ a variety of pots and bottles for scents and creams as well as cosmetic tools, has a brass ring on the front of the lid, and was closing with a brass key.
