Description
Ink drawing enhanced with gouache representing a scene behind a large curtain occupying the entire right side of the image and framed by poppy flowers on the right side and hollyhocks on the left side. There is an insert on the top right side where it is written "Concert du 5 mars 1904" (Concert of March 5, 1904), and at the bottom "Société Philharmonique" (Philharmonic Society). In the center of the drawing stands a singer in front of a symphony orchestra holding a musical score in her left hand. She is dressed in a ball gown with a train largely decorated with embroidery on the bottom ball of the bottom and bodice which is low-cut and with balloon sleeves. She is styled in "a la brioche" (Edwardian bun), meance the hair raised on the top of the head and held in a bun.
