Description
Glazed ceramic or terracotta pin brooch mounted on a brass base and representing a pink circus horse with golden hair and hooves. The horse's eye is made of a tiny clear green rhinestone.

Elsa SCHIAPARELLI was the first to give a theme to her collections from the early 1930s. Between looks, accessories and performances by circus artists, the presentation of the "Le Cirque" (The Circus) collection in 1938 marks a new turning point, being the first runway show/entertainment comparable to one of today’s fashion shows. Accessories from this collection have been created and designed by French artist and ceramist Lucien NEUQUELMAN for Schiaparelli couture collection. Like the Doliet brand, the huge success has led other manufactory to create similar broochs, this one is another example.
