Description
A set of matryoshkas and a key ring in the shape of a matryoshka. The big matryoshka consists of a wooden figure in black lacquered wood, which separates at the middle, top from bottom, to reveal a smaller figure of the same sort inside, which has, in turn, another figure inside of it. Each Russian doll has a white face wth three Chanel roses on the front (one for the smallest doll), and Chanel logo on the key ring figurine.
In the Pre-Fall 2009 Chanel Collection, Karl LAGERFELD reinterpreted the codes of Russia: he created a Soviet version of the “2.55” bag adorned with insignia from Russian history, and the traditional matryoshka that turned into a minaudière in the colors and codes of the house. Both bags were limited editions, the jewelry line of the collection also featured Russian icons such as Matriochka dolls, red stars and items inspired by Imperial Russia.
