Small handbag made of chain mail with small metal spheres hanging from the bottom. The top is clipped close and has a mirror on the other side. The exterior coverage of the mirror has ornate filigree details as well as a butterfly in its center, embellished with a purple gem on each wing. On each extremity of the piece, we found purple gems as well.Such type of a purse was only allowed to contain a tiny lace handkerchief. For a high society lady, hiding money in it would be considered as "Mauvais genre." It was usually a part of a chatelaine, to be attached to the belt, or even hang on a long chain going from the neck.
