Description
Art-nouveau style brooch in a shape of mistletoe with two small rhinestones. The brooch has a cartouche with the inscription “FIX”.
"FIX" is a French term for heavily gold applied jewellery items. "FIX" pieces were made during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco Era from 1890-1920. The reason they marked the pieces FIX is because the gold was so heavily applied that unscrupulous individuals were selling these pieces as solid gold.
