Description
Promotional photographic portrait of Natalie PALEY with her figure is depicted in strict side profile, seated, with an upright and composed posture, her head slightly raised, emphasising the clarity and refinement of her facial features. Natalia's hair is arranged in a carefully structured coiffure, composed of sculptural waves across the crown and tightly set curls gathered at the back. The face is rendered with smooth tonal transitions, while directional studio lighting accentuates the contour of the cheekbone, nose, and jawline, producing a sharply defined silhouette against a darkened background. She wears an evening gown in a metallic textile, draped fluidly across the shoulders, the surface catching and reflecting light. The garment is fastened at the shoulder with an Art Deco brooch of geometric triangluar design.

Natalie PALEY (1905-1981) was a Russian princess, the granddaughter of Tsar Alexander II. She fled the Russian Revolution and went on to establish herself as a model in Paris throughout the 1930s, for Schiaparelli, Chanel, and Vogue. She later appear in French and American films.
