Description
Picture frame composed of walnut with hammered brass and chains in the style of Russian Art Nouveau. The frame takes the form of a russian style drum and dome . The bulbed dome features a repoussé depiction of a central asian type dragon with a beard, antlers, angellic wings and fish like tail and body. Possibly the Tannin from Jewish mythology or simply the Zmei of Slavic mythology. The sides of the frame are embellished with decorative brass chains, and the bottom features a brass repousse depiction of a fern flower, inset with a circular piece of amber.
