Description

Pocket watch in a yellow 14k gold case with a white enamel dial featuring Roman numerals and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. The case has a guilloché texture and houses a mechanical hand-wound movement protected by three covers.The outer case back is decorated with an engine-turned surface and a raised Art Nouveau-style monogram composed of flowing foliate ornamentation, likely representing the original owner's initials.

The engraved inscription 'Grand Prix Paris 1900' refers to the highest honor conferred upon Longines at the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris, recognizing the brand's excellence in horological innovation and craftsmanship. Serial number 1492404 dates the watch to around 1900. Made by Longines in Switzerland, it features an inner cuvette engraved “Grand Prix Paris 1900” with medal motifs. The case is stamped with Swiss gold hallmarks (0.585) and the Longines logo.
