Description
A sheath Flapper-style dress in brown silk brocade, sleeveless, with wide straps, richly embroidered in the Egyptian pattern with gold thread, black bugles, pink seed beads and small pearls along the front of the low-waisted bodice and on the lower half of the skirt. A row of pearls along the top edge, by the sides of the dress and in the middle of the skirt frame the picture.
Egyptomania became fashionable after the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb in 1923.
