Description
Portrait of Mme. Delahaye de Course – it's a portrait of a mature woman wearing an insulated grey silk winter dress with empire-style waistline accented by a silk belt with a gilded brass buckle, long, puffy at the shoulders sleeves, and center front hook-and-eye fastening. The turn-down collar of the dress is trimmed with grey gauze, draped and secured with silvery rings. She wears a turban of the same grey gauze entwined with a gold satin ribbon and secured with a white silk with golden brooches ribbon under the chin. She has tightly curled ringlet locks, that frame her face, and a rope-length gold chain at the neck.
The oval portrait is mounted in a rectangular gilded wood frame.
