Description

Round sovereign purse executed in green crochet knitting. The body is of full rounded form decorated with the interplay of green wool and gold thread lending the ground fabric a rich, lustrous quality. The purse is secured by a gilded round golden metal clasp. Its surface densely worked in repoussé with a naturalistic floral and foliate composition in high relief, the openwork ground of the clasp lending it a pierced, lace-like appearance. The clasp is fitted with a small button closure and suspends from a fine elongated link chain of gilded metal.
