A blue sequined bodycon mini dress from the Balmain FW 2009 RTW collection. It features long sleeves with shoulder pads and a simple crew neckline with rear zip fastening, and entirely covered in round, square, rectangular (vertically and horizontally oriented) and hexagonal electric blue sequins - all in two sizes, arranged in a horizontal striped pattern that creates a shimmering, high-octane effect.The collection characterized by a powerful 1980s aesthetic and sharp silhouettes was presented at the Ritz Hotel in Paris on 05.03.2009, under the creative direction of Christophe DECARNIN. This season was highly influential, defining the "Balmain mania" of the late 2000s with its ultra-short hemlines and sharp, exaggerated shoulder pads. During the show this piece was modeled by Lara STONE and later it has been seen on celebrities like Jazzy De LISSER and was used in editorial shoots.
