Description
Bodice for a woman’s dress, designed in the style of the 1890s, constructed largely in cream satin fabric with contrasting black elements. The bodice tapers to a point at the center of its front and narrows in at the waist. Its long black sleeves match other accents and are cut in a gigot style, tapering from shoulder to wrist. These include a short ruffled collar and wide black lapels that frame the front opening. Near the lower front are four vertical rows of decorative satin-covered black buttons set on ribbons of the same material. The back features a decorative trim at the neckline in a black floral motif embellished with beads. The interior is lined in natural cotton. The bodice fastens at the front with metal hook and eye clasps.
