Description
Decorative embroidered collar of rounded form, with widened front ends and softly curved edges. The front surface is made of ivory satin silk and is richly ornamented with metallic thread, metallic cord, and glass beads. The outer and inner edges are fully bordered with bronze-toned metallic cord. Across the surface, the same metallic cord forms scrolling vegetal lines and curved ornamental divisions. These are combined with stylized floral motifs, star-shaped blossoms, small leaf forms, and berry-like clusters made of red glass beads. Additional small ring-shaped beads are distributed along the border and within the decorative field. At the ends of the collar, a hook and small loop are attached, allowing the piece to be fastened around the neckline. The reverse is lined with ivory silk satin, creating a smooth backing to the embroidered front.
