Description
Fan decorated in silk fabric and ornamented, carved wood, revealing a painted scene on its leaf. The fan contains sixteen blades that display a detailed scene of a well-dressed man and a woman on a garden path. Their belongings are scattered on the ground whilst the man who is wearing stockings and a petticoat is looking at a small tear in the shoulder of the woman's white dress. Behind them is a marble building in which nine well-dressed individuals are also looking at them. Colorful flowers as well as lush bushes and trees are featured throughout the scene.
The wooden composition of the fan is lightweight and extremely detailed. Within the ends of the fan the wood is decorated in a spiral pattern that then leads to a flower design with ribbing behind it. Above the ribbed flower design is a three pointed symbol which is prevalent upon all of the other blades. At the very top of the two outer pieces is a rectangular flower ornamentation that includes eight small circles; two in each corner of the rectangle.
On either outer blade of the back of the fan a hand drawn spiral-floral pattern is featured. The center back of the fan depicts a symbol of unity painted in green spiral strokes.
The fan comes in a pink box. The box is composed of wood and features a dainty, pink color with a glossy finish. The top of the box contains satin fabric rouching as well as a gold loop handle that is attached to an ornamented base atop the satin fabric. The front of the box has decorative metal plating which overhang the opening feature of the box. Small gold features above the plating are featured as well. The lower half of the box contains the same pink color as the top while the two feet at the bottom of the box are white and plastic. The interior of the bottom of the box is lightly lined on the sides with paper lace.
