Cloche hat

Bell-shaped cloche hat woven from metallic silver and black lamé threads, arranged in a broad braid creating a straw-effect surface. The hat features a narrow, downturned brim characteristic of the fashionable silhouette of the period. A band of aged, darkened tulle netting encircles the base of the crown, creating a soft transition between the crown and brim.

The hat is prominently decorated with a large silk rose in vivid fuchsia pink, constructed from multiple overlapping layers of petals, including several velvet petals, and accented with faded green silk leaves at the base. The centre of the flower is embellished with a cluster of finely gathered yellow plastic stamens, imitating the pollen-bearing structure of a natural bloom.

The interior is lined in black silk, gathered towards the centre of the crown, where a cluster of metallic threads is visible at the apex. Two remaining drawstring cords are preserved, likely intended for adjusting the fit or securing the hat on the wearer’s head.
