Duette dress clip

Duette dress clips comprising two matching dress clips joined by a detachable linking bar, allowing them to be worn either separately or together as a single ornament across the neckline or collar of a blouse or dress. Each clip is constructed in silver-toned metal and centred by a polished teardrop-shaped black onyx cabochon surrounded by a graduated border of colourless cabochon stones. The stones vary in size, with the largest accentuating the rounded end of the onyx and progressively smaller examples following its tapered point, creating a harmonious and balanced composition.

The reverse of each clip is fitted with a steel clip fastening, while the detachable connecting bar enables the two clips to function as a duette, a versatile form of jewellery popular during the early twentieth century.
