Beaded Belt

Sequin belt constructed from cream-coloured silk richly embroidered with metallic sequins and fully lined with matching cream silk. The belt is composed of three sections, each bordered with narrow bands of gold-coloured silk. The two elongated front ends are ornamented with scrolling and linear sequin embroidery, while the edges are enriched with applied settings containing imitation cabochon stones, creating a symmetrical decorative composition.

The shorter rear section is worked in the same sequin pattern and supports a large cross-shaped openwork mesh ornament embellished with imitation pearls and cabochon stones. From its lower edge are suspended graduated pendants of silver-coloured glass beads and imitation pearls, adding movement and enhancing the ceremonial appearance of the piece. The combination of shimmering embroidery, jewelled ornament, and pendant beadwork reflects the elaborate decorative taste characteristic of theatrical costume and ceremonial dress accessories.
