JOURNAL DES DAMES ET DES MODES (French, 1797 - 1839)Description
This engraving depicts two women wearing the same dress so as to show the front and back as well as the possibility to change the colour.It is an evening dress, with a heart-shaped neckline finished by the pleating at the front of the bustle. The very puffy sleeves are adorned with pink flowers and flower buttons. At the waist is a pink and white belt, with two strips of the same fabric hanging at the front of the skirt and holding the same flowers with bows. The hemline is trimmed in the pink and white fabric as well.
The outfit is accessorized with a fan and white gloves.
