Description
Miser's purse used for carrying coins embroidered with cut steel beads and tassels, with two compartments and two rings which are used as closures.

This style of money purse, became very popular in the 1800s. It's made of crocheted silk and cut steel  beads. The miser bag is made with one rounded end and one square end. The shape comes from the middle ages, when people kept their coins in a sock.
