Description
Photograph representing the bust portrait of a woman, known to be the Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna of Russia (born Princess Alexandra of Saxe-Altenburg - 1830-1911). She is dressed in an off-the-shoulder crinoline ball gown, which only the bodice, made of lace and decorated on the front with a natural flower, is visible. Her face is highlighted through her hairstyle which places her hair in a curly bun towards the back of her head and her jewelry consisting of a choker necklace, known as a dog collar, as well as a pair of earrings
Alexandra Frédérique Henriette Pauline Marianne Élisabeth of SAXE-ALTENBURG is a German princess of SAXE-ALTENBURG, born July 8, 1830. She became Grand Duchess of Russia under the name of Alexandra LOSIFOVNA of Russia by her marriage, in 1848, to Grand Duke Constantine Nikolaevich of Russia. She died on July 6, 1911, in Saint Petersburg.
