Description
Oval brass mounted brooch adorned with a handpainted on porcelain miniature portrait of Louis XVII (27 March 1785 – 8 June 1795), born Louis-Charles, was the younger son of King Louis XVI of France and Queen Marie Antoinette. He is represented praying during his staying in the Temple prison.Eugenie de Montijo, the wife of Emperor Napoleon III, was a passionated fan of Queen Marie Antoinette and launched a fashion and art revival of her style.
