Description
The portrait represents the young Italian dancer Carlotta GRISI (1819-1899) in her dressing room preparing herself for the opera "Polka". She is standing in front of a Psyche mirror wears the famous red costume consisting of a Fez hat trimmed with an egret, a caraco with a long basque and ballerina shooes in the same color. The beld is hanging on a chair. However, she wears the blue tutu should belonging to the ballet "The goddess of the fairies".
