Watercolour fashion plate no 1467 from the "Petit courrier des dames ou Nouveau journal des modes, des théâtres, de la littérature et des arts", represents men's parisian costume according to fashion trends in 1838.
Engraving depicts two men modeling fashionable outfits in English style. The gentleman on the left is wearing a green frock coat with striped trousers, holding a cap hat and a whip. The man on the right is wearing a dark brown tailcoat with beige trousers, striped blue and white waistcoat and black tie scarf. Costumes come from the workshops of Mr Robin, rue St Marc, 21. Hats from Magasins Desprey, boulevard des Italiens 28. Cane and whip from Mr Verdier, rue Richelieu 102. Bronze statuette and furniture from the Magasin Sulse, place de la Bourse. Haircuts by Mr Charles, Royal palace 50.
