Watercolour fashion plate n° 565 from the "Le Journal des Dames & des Demoiselles / Belgian Edition", represents women's costume according to fashion trends in the late 1850s.Engraving depicts two women and a very young girl outside on a background of a castle or manoir. The girl is playing on the ground with a pigeon, in a white dress with large green ribbon belt and headband, behind her a woman in a pale grey dress with a floral print of pink roses with green leaves, white lace bonnet trimmed with white ribbons, and on the right, a woman in a purple black stripe dress and black-lace shawl holding an umbrella.
