Description
Small women's hat in black felt with an extended brim with three folds falling on the right, creating an asymmetric shape. Decorated with a rhinestone buckle in the beginning of the brim.

Jacques FATH's collection of the year 1949 starts a new trend of purging of volumes in favor of graphic research. The line is said to be "folded" in the spring, "gushing" in the fall. Jacques FATH also revives the fashion for short hair. The effect of these hairstyles is considered "airy" or "childish", especially as the hats are part of this "shamelessness". In the fall, Jacques FATH declares: the "profiled helix hats, raised on the side, these felt wings, these 18th century toreador hats, these broken bicorns and these conches who caress the cheek and sometimes even mold themselves to the shoulder, in short: all these disturbed hats, "moved" one might say, are an asymmetric consciousness which balances that of the silhouette".
