Sepia technique pastel and charcoal drawing on paper representing a head of a smiling woman with brown hair and black hat. The portrait is attributed as representing Nadezhda Petrovna LAMANOVA (1861 - 1941), a Russian and Soviet fashion and costume designer, supplier of Her Majesty's Imperial Court before the Red Revolution, and the only renowned designer to stay in Russia and lay the basis for the new Soviet fashion.
