Description

Two cardboard boxes set of 12 pharmacy loose face powder refillers in different shades, each coming in its transparent plastic etui with a golden cap. The shades include: Rachel foncée, Ocre claire, Havane, Peau brulée, Ocre foncée, Ocre soleil, Diane, Jeunesse, Naturelle, Printemps, Cendre rose, Ambre rose.

During the first half of the 20th century and till the 1970s, the compartments for powder makeup were usually sold apart from the powder itself. Different brands were naming their shades usually with the same names, to make it easier for a customer. The owner could refill her vanity case with a desired shade, which allowed her to keep the same box, expecially if it was made of metal with a particular design.
