Description
Egyptian Revival belt buckle in silver consisting of two parts in the shape of a four winged scarab made of a turquoise stone.

In the early 20th century Egypt was of great interest in the West starting with the Ballets Russes "Cleopatre" ballet of 1909, and continued with the discovery of Tutankhamun tomb in 1922. This brought about the Egyptian Revival period where design in jewellery, fashion and furniture was inspired by Egypt.
