Description
Paper photograph of a Parisian model of Maison Lebouvier, destined for a German magazine, with a printed on tracing paper explanatory text in German. The photograph shows a young woman dressed in a black velvet reception dress, covered with black satin appliqués at the edge and the seams of the skirt with a short train. The waist, which is short at the back and long at the front, cut like a jacket, reveals a scalloped plastron made of white sheared lambskin, which is enlivened by royal blue, gold-edged bias. The collar, belt and the lower part of the plastron, which runs at the top, are made of black satin, tied in a knot at the neck. The sleeves, which are slit up to the elbows and richly adorned with appliqué, reveal the same trimmed fur as narrow undersleeves. The arrangement of the satin stripes on the waist is partly vertical, partly horizontal from the end, ending in large square buttons. The lady is leaning on a high Art Nouveau style wooden turntable.
